A New Perspective on the World of Governance and Leadership: "Conexio" Has Launched

The Izmir University of Economics Leadership and Governance Application and Research Center (EKOLİDER) has launched Conexio, an e-newsletter designed to deepen contemporary discussions in the fields of governance and leadership.

In a world where institutions, communities, and decision-making processes are becoming increasingly "connected," Conexio aims to make these relationships visible and establish a foundation for intellectual discourse. The newsletter will cover critical themes such as ethical leadership, digital transformation, and social trust from a broad perspective, spanning from local governments to international policy processes and from civil society to the private sector.

First Issue: "The Governance of Saying No"

The inaugural issue of Conexio, dated January 2026, focuses on a challenge frequently encountered in the business world and leadership practices: "The Governance of Saying No: Boundaries and Meaningful Yeses." The newsletter emphasizes that the prerequisite for building healthy connections is sometimes the willingness to risk a strategic detachment—in other words, the courage to say "no." The first issue offers a detailed examination of Kim Scott’s "Radical Candor" approach, Peter Block’s insights on leadership, and the concept of "Leading Loudly," which makes boundaries visible for leaders.

New Era, New Vision

Shaped by the vision of the new board of directors that took office at EKOLİDER in December 2025, Conexio is designed as a vital component of the Center's commitment to knowledge production and public contribution. The Center's detailed roadmap and activity plan will be shared with readers in the newsletter’s February issue.
