About Ekolider
What is Ekolider?
Ekolider is the Leadership and Governance Application and Research Center operating within Izmir University of Economics. Having conducted significant work in the fields of leadership, ethics, and governance since its establishment, the center is now redefining its mission and broadening its scope of activities to be more inclusive in response to today's changing social, economic, and technological conditions.
The Center aims to strengthen an innovative and inclusive understanding of leadership based on ethical values, the principles of transparency and accountability, sustainable development goals, and the Council of Europe's good governance standards.
The primary goal of the Center is to become an academic and societal impact center referenced at national and international levels. In line with this goal, it has positioned itself beyond being merely an academic unit, becoming an interaction and production platform for students, academics, the business world, and civil society.
Furthermore, the Center aims to contribute to the development of future leaders, enhance institutional capacity building, and promote a culture of good governance by integrating Izmir's strong economic and social ecosystem with the university's academic capacity.
Vision
The Leadership and Governance Application and Research Center aims to become a nationally and internationally referenced hub for academic and societal impact. It seeks to reinforce an innovative and inclusive leadership approach grounded in ethical values, the principles of transparency and accountability, sustainable development goals, and the Council of Europe's good governance standards.
Mission
The mission of the Center is to contribute to the formation of a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable governance culture in Turkey and around the world. It achieves this by developing a strong, ethical, and responsible understanding of leadership; integrating good governance principles with academic knowledge and practice; and conducting research, education, consultancy, and social contribution activities aligned with sustainable development goals. Furthermore, the Center works to transform the university's body of knowledge into applicable solutions for the public, private, and civil sectors, while actively encouraging the participation of youth, women, and disadvantaged groups in decision-making processes and developing governance models focused on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and innovation.
